SHELLEY LEE BROTEN

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, wife and Ma, Shelley Broten (née Coombs) on March 19, 2026, at Grace Hospital, with her children by her side.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Tim; her son, Jed (Natalie), and their children, Jace and Ford; and her daughter, Holly (Nathan), and their children, Parker and Brynley.

Born in Winnipeg on May 18, 1958, Mom had a lifelong love for animals. In her early years, she worked as a veterinary assistant. In her early 30s, she became a mom - her greatest role in life - and she would go on to do absolutely anything for her children! She loved having the grandchildren over to play and mess up the house.

Mom was one of the most unselfish and non-judgmental people you could ever meet. She had a way of making everyone feel comfortable, accepted, and at ease in her presence. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her niece Gwen, Nina, and the staff at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion.

In accordance with Mom’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her memory.
